Tickets have just gone on sale for this year’s ‘Christmas at Landguard Fort’ event on Sunday 11 December.
Last year’s event drew huge crowds to the Grade I listed Fort at Felixstowe in Suffolk, and this year’s event running from 1200-1800 promises another fun-packed festive afternoon for the family.
A new timed ticket system for a visit to Father Christmas in his grotto has been introduced for 2016, and with NO tickets on the door for this part of the event, visitors are asked to book in advance.
Children will also be able to meet the Ice Queen and ‘Olaf’, take part in the fun Quiz Trail, get their face-painted, enjoy storytelling and join in the Beach Bonkers wildlife activities. A giant Christmas tree and snow machines will add to the atmosphere - plus get a picture on Santa’s sleigh with Rudolph!
Around the Fort, visitors can discover a special seasonal room from Felixstowe Museum, alongside the local Guide Dogs group and Felixstowe Country Market. The upstairs casemates will come alive with colourful craft and gift stalls to browse for great handmade and unique Christmas presents. Feeling peckish? Then the Lions Club of Felixstowe will be serving up their BBQ, plus delicious Indian dishes from Bombay Nite too.
Live music and choirs throughout the afternoon include Felixstowe Community Choir, The Felix Stowaways, Felixstowe Salvation Army Band, Tutti Frutti Voices and the Martlesham Brass Band.
Entry is £5.00 for adults and £3.00 (without a visit to Father Christmas) for children. Admission for children, including a visit to Father Christmas is £6.00 - but you must book a timed ticket online in advance for this, as there will be NO tickets on the door for this part of the event.
Stephen Rampley, Landguard Marketing and Events Co-ordinator said:
“Last year’s event attracted over 1,200 visitors and was a huge success. This year we have introduced our new timed ticket system for Father Christmas, and the Fort will come alive with festive fun for everyone. Come and celebrate Christmas with us”.
