A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday 12 November in Lowestoft and everyone is welcome to attend.
Members of the Royal British Legion Lowestoft and District Branch, representatives from Waveney District Council and other local organisations will be present at the service which will take place at the War Memorial at Royal Plain at 10.45am.
The service, which will last approximately thirty minutes, will commence shortly after the observance of the two minutes silence.
Cllr Stephen Ardley, Deputy Leader of Waveney District Council and Cabinet Member for Merger and Communities said:
“The Service of Remembrance is an opportunity to reflect and remember those who have served, and continue to serve, in our armed forces. We would like to invite the whole community to come together on this poignant day.”
An official parade comprising the TA, cadet forces and other uniformed units will form up at the Claremont Pier at 10.15am, with standard bearers and veterans forming up at 10.35am adjacent to the toilets near to Royal Plain. The parade will then begin at 10.40am proceeding along the seafront to Royal Plain, with standards and veterans joining as the parade passes.
A short Armistice Day ceremony will take place on Saturday 11 November at 10.45am, also at Royal Plain.
