We’re celebrating the importance of our local markets during Love Your Local Market fortnight from 17 – 31st May 2017.

To mark the national celebration, Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils are calling local market organisers to get in touch with our Economic Development team to help build our map of markets in east Suffolk.

This links with The Suffolk Coast’s work to develop a platform dedicated to markets, providing information on all the markets in east Suffolk.

Market organisers are asked to send us details of where and when their markets are happening, including a full address and postcode as well as any photos they may have to promote their market.

Paul Wood, Head of Economic Development and Regeneration at Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils, said:

“Our local markets are an important part of our local economy and we want to work with local organisers to help encourage more people to discover more of what our markets have to offer.

“We hope to increase the appeal of markets to attract them to residents, businesses and visitors coming to east Suffolk. This reflects the ambitions of our Business Plan to create a strong, sustainable, and dynamic local economy offering our communities more stable, high quality and high value jobs, with increased opportunities for all.

“If you would like to put your local market on the map in east Suffolk, please do get in touch with our Economic Services team.”
