Father Christmas and one of his elves have made a flying visit to the seaside town of Felixstowe, as it prepares for a bumper festive season of events and activities.
Santa was at the Lions Club of Felixstowe Christmas HQ to inspect his all-new grotto for 2017. It will be in action for the annual ‘Lighting Up Day’ - this year on Saturday 2 December in the town centre. There will be a whole afternoon of music and entertainment, plus stalls and refreshments, leading up to the switching on of the Christmas lights by the Mayor at 5pm.
The new grotto supports a wonderful seasonal mural painted by artist Nickie Bain and is sponsored by Coes Outfitters of Felixstowe.
Father Christmas will also be in attendance at this year’s ‘Christmas at Landguard Fort’ event on Saturday 16 December - an event where the Lions are working in partnership with the Landguard Fort Trust and Landguard Partnership.
John Gooch from the Lions said:
“Santa was thrilled with his new grotto and cannot wait to meet the children and their families of Felixstowe on Saturday 2 December for Lighting Up Day.
We have also been working hard on putting together this year’s Christmas lights in the town centre. Please come down and join in the fun and help support the work of the Lions”.
