Concerns over emergency roadworks

Local councils have responded with frustration and concern following the announcement that Anglian Water will commence emergency roadworks in Station Square, Lowestoft from Monday 1 October.

The utility company have confirmed that the work is taking place because of damage to a sewer.  As part of these repairs, a single-lane road closure - from the junction of Denmark Road/Katwijk Way to the junction with Battery Green Road - will be in place for up to five weeks and diversions enforced.

Suffolk County Council and Waveney District Council have spoken with Anglian Water and while both accept that the works must take place, they are determined to ensure they are concluded quickly.
