Following the success of similar intergenerational events held in East Suffolk, older residents from the Kesgrave area are invited to a festive event run by local students.

On Friday 14 December, students from Kesgrave High School will be hosting ‘Rockin’ around the Christmas Tea!’, a free event with singing, student performances, games and fun designed especially for older members of the local community.

Cllr Steve Gallant, Suffolk Coastal District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Health said:

“Social isolation and loneliness can be a real issue for older people, particularly at Christmas. Events such as this one offer an opportunity for older residents to get together and meet with friends, as well as enjoy the activities kindly provided by the students.”

The event, supported by the East Suffolk Communities Team, takes place at the Gallery Cafe, Kesgrave High School between 1pm and 3pm.

Free refreshments will be available, as well as gifts made by the students.

The East Suffolk Communities Team comprises officers from Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils and Suffolk County Council, working together to support local communities.
