New Councillor sought for Wenhaston and Westleton

Suffolk Coastal is looking for a new Councillor to represent the people of Wenhaston and Westleton.

The seat became vacant following the death of Cllr Raymond Catchpole on 14 July 2018 after battling prostate cancer for 12 years.

To stand for election, you must be:

  • at least 18 of age;
  • a British, Commonwealth or European Union citizen; and,
  • registered to vote in Suffolk Coastal; or,
  • have occupied, as owner or tenant, land or other premises in the district for the whole 12 months prior to the election; or,
  • had your principal or only place of work in the district during that same 12 month period.

Nomination papers can be downloaded from our website, along with nomination packs and a timetable for the by-election.

Nomination paper copies are also available from Suffolk Coastal’s offices at East Suffolk House, Station Road, Melton.

Completed nominations can be delivered to our offices until 4pm on Thursday, 23 August, ahead of the election, which will be held on Thursday 20 September.
