You have until 22 August to register your details with Solar Together Suffolk, a council-backed scheme offering high quality solar panels at a competitive price

Now is the time to take action and join over 1 million solar homes in the UK.

It is free to register and there is no obligation to buy. Submit your details at www.solartogethersuffolk.co.uk.

This year has already seen each of the ‘big six’ energy companies increase the prices of their standard tariffs meaning higher bills for many households.

According to figures from the Energy Saving Trust, properties in the south-east of England can expect to save between £90 to £220 per year on their electricity bills, with a typical solar panel system.

Meanwhile in July, the government announced that anyone installing solar panels after March 2019 will no longer be paid for the surplus energy they generate, known as the ‘Feed in Tariff’.

All installations in the current Solar Together Suffolk scheme are planned to take place before this deadline, meaning you will still qualify for the Feed In Tariff. The Energy Saving Trust estimates that a typical solar panel system will generate between £255 and £275 each year.

As well as saving money, you will be helping Suffolk to become the Greenest County and boost its renewable energy.

Councillor Richard Rout, Cabinet Member for Environment & Public Protection for Suffolk County Council said:

“Solar Together Suffolk is an ideal way to improve the sustainability and reduce the fuel bills of local homes as well as eligible schools, community groups and small businesses. The scheme offers an attractive and easy opportunity to invest in renewable technology from a trusted provider.”

Once you have registered your details, pre-vetted solar panel companies will participate in an auction to be the winning supplier. You will then receive your personalised offer in mid-September. The more people who register, the bigger the savings could be, with similar projects delivering discounts of 25 to 30% to their customers. Solar Together schemes are also operating in Norfolk. Essex and London, if you have friends or family in these regions.

To save money on your electricity bills and solar panel system, you must register by 22 August. Visit www.solartogethersuffolk.co.uk today to submit your details.
