Helmets at the ready, the popular female only cycling event is coming to Kesgrave on Sunday 1 September!
Women on Wheels events are mass participation female only bike rides, which focuses on the fun, friendly and inclusive aspects of cycling – all while raising money for a good cause.
Girls and women of all ages will take part when the event takes place for the first time in Kesgrave on Sunday. Local groups and businesses are also getting involved with the Grundisburgh and Tuddenham WI’s providing cakes and volunteers for the refreshment stops and the East of England Coop providing teas and coffees for everyone involved.
WoW is organised by East Suffolk Council, Fresh Start New Beginning, Lighthouse Women’s Aid, Pedal Power, Plomesgate Cycling Club and Sportsmed East and with Suffolk County Council as a supporting partner.
Any profit from the entries will go towards supporting two nominated charities; Fresh Start New Beginnings and Lighthouse Women’s Aid. Participators are encouraged to fundraise for these two charities, with the person raising the most money winning an invitation to the East Suffolk Business & Community Awards on Thursday 3 October. The prize will include a three course meal, an overnight stay and breakfast at Milsoms in Kesgrave.
People doing the 20 mile route should arrive at 8am for set off at 9am and people doing the 10 mile route should arrive at 9am for set off at 10am at Sportsmed East and Pedal Power, 36-38 Woodbridge Road, Rushmere St Andrew, IP5 1BH.
