RNLI Lifeguards will return to Lowestoft North and Southwold South beaches on Saturday 6 July until Sunday 8 September. The charity’s lifeguards will be patrolling from 10am to 6pm everyday.

RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor Liam Fayle-Parr said:

"95% of our role is about prevention and at this time we would like to remind everyone how important it is to swim at a lifeguarded beach and to swim between the Red and Yellow Flags.

Our lifeguards are looking forward to returning to the beaches and have completed all vital training to ensure the safety of all beach goers. We will be present to provide peace of mind, advice and to assist beach goers in anyway we can."

Lowestoft South and Southwold North beaches have been patrolled daily by the charity’s lifeguards since Saturday 25 May. From Saturday 6 July these beaches will see an increase in lifeguards.

Cllr Letitia Smith, East Suffolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism said:

"We are pleased to see these patrols return to our beautiful beaches for the busy summer season. Our beaches are some of the best in the country and we want beach goers to be able to enjoy their visit, whilst keeping in mind the importance of beach safety."
