There are several business support and training providers plus networks covering the East Suffolk area offering independent, impartial information, advice and support.

Federation of Small Businesses - UK’s largest campaigning pressure group for self-employed and owners of small firms.

Foundation East - can help with access to business finance. Its Community Land Trust team can assist with improving community assets.

GOV.UK - brings together information from the Direct.gov websites, offering businesses and the self employed a single point of access to public sector and business information services.

Green Suffolk Business Service Free and impartial support for businesses in Suffolk on a range of topics from grants and procurement to energy efficiency and resilience planning.

Groundwork and Business Efficient Resilience Toolkit (BERT) - aims to help businesses develop and build a resilience action plan to deal with disruptions to business

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) - The advice team at HM Revenue and Customs offer a range of free services to help businesses understand tax, national insurance and VAT responsibilities as well as a monthly bulletin on key updates affecting your business.

Innovation Martlesham - an established cluster of high-tech ICT companies located at Adastral Park, Martlesham. Besides being home to a diverse range of large, medium and small companies, Innovation Martlesham is a 'collaborative ecosystem' for technology companies.

IP Network - special interest group open to businesses involved in the hi-tech industry

Jobcentre Plus - provides a wide range of information and services on benefit entitlement, loans and grants and offer help with finding a job. There are local offices located in Beccles and Lowestoft.

Knowyourmoney.co.uk - supports local businesses with a range of services for startups and small businesses. This includes raising finance to business automation.

Lowestoft College – The College is able to support employees with a range of bite size qualifications and training solutions. Funding is available to support you and your employees to develop skills needed to deliver your business. Training is available in a range of areas, including customer service, IT, First Aid, Health and Safety, hospitality and catering.  They can also provide support and guidance on recruiting apprenticeships in your business.

Menta - Offer one-to-one business advice, a range of business skills masterclasses, as well as access to business finance and serviced business premises.

New Anglia Growth Hub - Developed for Suffolk and Norfolk companies, the New Anglia Growth Hub web portal brings together local and national business support information into one place. Businesses can also request an appointment with a local Business Growth Advisor, who can visit any business, in any sector at any stage of development to help them move forward.

Nwes - The UK’s largest not-for-profit Enterprise Agency providing one-to-one business advice, training courses, access to finance and serviced business premises

Prince’s Trust – a UK charity which provides practical workplace advice and financial support to 13 to 30 year-olds to overcome barriers into work term unemployed.

Suffolk Growth Programme Board - provides information and updates to all SGPB member organisations about the work of the Board and the outcomes they are looking to deliver.
