Thank you to everyone who attended the annual engagement event on Friday 6 July 2018 at The Orwell Hotel.
The ‘New Horizons in Felixstowe’ event was attended by over 140 business representatives and community organisations to find out more about three areas of aspirational development in Felixstowe:
Presentations were followed by the opportunity for the attendees as roundtable groups to give their feedback on the proposed plans, and we heard what benefits these could have for Felixstowe, what the concerns were, and other considerations/comments.
A drop in session for the public was held in the afternoon and attended by over 300 people.
The event was well publicised and made the front page of the East Anglian Daily Times. The Council's ‘Coastline’ residents magazine promoted the event in their summer edition, delivered to every household. Felixstowe Town Council promoted it in their monthly newsletter. 5,000 flyers were distributed across the town. The Council, Visit Felixstowe and Felixstowe Forward heavily promoted through their social media channels.
There was enthusiastic support for the plans with constructive and high quality feedback. Here are just a few of the comments we received:
"Very exciting development for the town especially at South Seafront area has always been the ‘poorer’ end."
"Amazing facilities to have in Felixstowe."
"Elevates the Felixstowe experience."
Felixstowe Forward will be developing a Felixstowe Horizon document highlighting these key aspirational developments that can be used to promote Felixstowe as a great place to live and a prosperous town for business.
If you would like to know more and to receive updates as they become available please contact Felixstowe Forward.
