Supporting community environmental action

These projects received funding from the Community Environmental Action Fund:

  • Boyton Community Group - links green issues with community wants, includes community carbon audits, a glut stall to leave surplus produce for others, village green space/herb garden, local coastal defences and emergency planning, transport sharing solutions, collaborative consumption, and an insulation bulk buy scheme.

  • Cookpole Energy Action - promotes renewable energy options, set up a community garden and took part in insulation bulk buy schemes. View case study.
  • Enterprise Badingham - aims to set up a local produce market in conjunction with neighbouring parishes to create a viable outlet for local producers and has established a community garden.

  • Greener Sax - allotment regeneration, film nights, winter green fayres, bike workshops, collaborating with other local groups, insulation bulk buy scheme.
  • Kelsale-Cum-Carlton Parish Council - promotes practical steps towards improving the community’s fuel poverty status, carbon emissions and household comfort. View case study.
  • Kesgrave Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Association - setting up new allotments, water conservation, promotion of cycling to the allotments, promotion of nature friendly gardening. KALGA close report
  • Kingsfleet Primary School, Felixstowe - giving a green focus to the school and reaching out into the wider community.
  • Sandlings Safer Cycling Campaign - creating safe routes and maps between settlements in the Sandlings area, reducing traffic speed and promoting cycling.

  • The Oak Tree Low Carbon Farm – a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to bringing together individuals and families through growing food in a way that has limited impact on the environment and maximises social and health gains.
