A special information event will give Lowestoft residents and businesses an opportunity to find out more about current projects taking place in the town.
On 17 and 18 March, Waveney District Council will be hosting an information event in the town centre. The event will allow an insight into a number of ongoing projects affecting those living in, working in and visiting Lowestoft and the surrounding area.
Officers from the Council will be available to provide information on the new Lowestoft and Oulton Broad town and parish councils, the merger between Waveney and Suffolk Coastal District Councils, coastal management and flooding, economic development and regeneration, Universal Credit and much more.
In addition, representatives from a wide range of partner organisations will also be present, including Access Community Trust, Community Action Suffolk, Great Yarmouth College, Lowestoft College, Lowestoft Vision, Lowestoft Rising, Marina Theatre, Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Police and Turning Point. Information will be available on the new Lake Lothing crossing, employment for young people, apprenticeships, the merger between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft Colleges, crime prevention and drug and alcohol services.
This free event takes place on Friday 17 March (1.30-4.30pm) and Saturday 18 March (10am – 4pm) at the former QD store in the Britten Centre, Lowestoft. Coffee and cake will be available.
Attendees are encouraged to park at Belvedere Road, where free parking will be available on 17th to 19th March.
A separate event will also be held for residents in Oulton Broad on 16th March from 12:30pm to 6pm at St. Marks Church, to provide information on the new Lowestoft and Oulton Broad town and parish councils.
