Final preparations are underway for this year’s festive-packed Christmas event at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe, Suffolk on Saturday 16 December, 12pm to 7pm.
Aimed at the whole family, and particularly children, the event includes an opportunity to visit Father Christmas in the Fort’s historic tunnels and rooms. Once again, this year, a timed ticket system is in place, and you must pre-book in advance to guarantee entry.
Little ones can also take part in a fun quiz trail ending in an icy forest to meet the Snow Queen and ‘Olaf’ the snowman - plus puppet shows, Christmas story-telling, colouring-in tables and a giant Thomas train set.
Adults can discover a special room from Felixstowe Museum full of interesting displays and artefacts, and upstairs in the historic casemates stallholders selling locally-made crafts and gifts - great for last minute Christmas presents.
A giant Christmas tree, twinkling lights and snow machines will adorn the Inner Parade where live music and entertainment will include the Martlesham Brass Band, Orwell Connection Choir, The Felix Stowaways, Felixstowe Harmonies and Felixstowe Salvation Army. At 1700, popular group J.S. and the Lockerbillies will take to the stage for their Rock and Roll Christmas Party.
Tuck into delicious Indian dishes from Bombay Nite, or a tasty burger with the Felixstowe Lions BBQ. Adnams Felixstowe will be serving up mulled wine and other drinks too.
