With just over a month until the Tour of Britain arrives in Suffolk Coastal, we’re launching a window dressing competition to find the best dressed community and individual business!

We’re inviting shop owners and businesses to decorate their windows and communities, taking inspiration from the Tour to welcome the race coming through the district on Friday 8 September.

The winning individual business will receive two tickets to the VIP hospitality together worth £300 for the finish of the race in Aldeburgh.

The overall best dressed community will win £500 to spend in their area.

The competition will be judged by Cllrs TJ Haworth-Culf and Geoff Holdcroft on 30 and 31 August.

Cllr TJ Haworth-Culf, cabinet member for Customers, Communities and Leisure, said:

“We want our towns and villages to look their best when the race comes through on 8 September.

“With live tv coverage of the race on ITV4 and a highlights programme shown in the evening, Suffolk Coastal will really be on centre stage. This is a unique opportunity for  our communities and their businesses to show themselves off!

“We’ve already heard about some really creative window dressing ideas so we’re looking forward to seeing what our communities put together.”
