Residents interested in renting a new affordable home in Aldeburgh are invited to attend an information event next week.
The construction of new affordable homes at Leiston Road in Aldeburgh is currently underway and the homes will then be available through the Council's Gateway to Homechoice scheme. The new homes will be let to those with a strong connection to the Aldeburgh area.
Gateway to Homechoice is the scheme for letting social housing across parts of Suffolk and Essex and gives residents the opportunity to bid for council and housing association housing. Available housing is advertised on the Gateway to Homechoice website and once registered, applicants can search for suitable properties.
An information event, organised by Gateway to Homechoice, East Suffolk Council and Flagship Homes, will take place on Thursday 12 September from 2pm to 6pm, at the Fairfield Centre, Fairfield Road, Aldeburgh, IP15 5JS.
The event will give people more information about the new homes as well as the Gateway to Homechoice scheme. Applications for the new homes can be made at the event – if anyone wishing to make a new application could also bring along ID, proof of Child Benefit, your National Insurance number, a 6 year Housing History, details of your income and information on any medical issues, this will help to speed up processing of your application.
To register for Gateway to Homechoice, and for more information about the scheme, please go to the Gateway to Homechoice website.
