Thank you to all our residents who took part in our consultation on the Issues and Options for the district’s Local Plan Review which ended on 30 October.

By having your say, you’re helping us plan for the future of our towns, villages and countryside.

The new Local Plan will cover the whole of the area up to 2036 and will guide development and include the policies which will be used when making decisions on planning applications.

Comments are now being logged and these will be available online.

The next stage is to consider all the comments and prepare a draft Local Plan for further public consultation in late spring 2018. The Council’s response to the comments will be published at the same time.

Cllr Tony Fryatt, Suffolk Coastal’s cabinet member for Planning at Suffolk Coastal District Council, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of quality responses we received so I’d like to say a big thank you to those who’ve had their say on our draft plan and everyone who came along to our Local Plan drop-in sessions.

“Responses from this initial consultation will guide us in preparing draft Local Plan policies and proposals for future growth in the district to 2036 for further consultation. Those who haven’t had their say will have the opportunity when we run the next consultation period.”
