History Alive!

Posted by on 3 September 2020 | Comments

From the top of St. John’s Church tower to the basements of Harvest House, the seaside town of Felixstowe offers a rich history and heritage to discover.

Once again in September, Heritage Open Days will be held throughout the UK, but this year’s event will be a little bit different.

On Saturday 12 September, Visit Felixstowe will be holding a ‘virtual’ Heritage Open Days across their social media platforms.

All-new video tours have been put together featuring unique tours, stories and information around a selection of key Felixstowe landmarks - from a children’s tour of Martello Tower ‘P’ to Landguard Fort, Felixstowe Museum, Felixstowe Town Hall, Harvest House, Felixstowe and Offshore Radio and the Felixstowe Seafront Gardens.

Paul Grant from Felixstowe Forward and the Landguard Partnership said “As it is not possible to open venues to visit in person in 2020, we are excited to present a special ‘virtual’ day of tours, stories and pictures to give everyone a wonderful taster of Felixstowe’s history and heritage”.
