Following the success of previous intergenerational events held in East Suffolk, older residents from the Beccles area are invited to a tea dance, organised by local young people.
On Wednesday 3rd April, students from Beccles Free School and the Sir John Leman High School will be holding a Muncheon Mingle tea dance, with activities themed around ballroom dancing including a waltz lesson and quiz.
A spokesperson for Waveney District Council said: “Our previous intergenerational events, which bring young and older members of the community together, have been a great success. Events such as this one offer an opportunity for older residents to get together and meet with friends, as well as enjoy the activities kindly provided by the students.”
The event, supported by the East Suffolk Communities Team, takes place at the Beccles Free School, Castle Hill, Beccles between 1pm and 3pm. Free refreshments will be available.
The East Suffolk Communities Team comprises officers from Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils and Suffolk County Council, working together to support local communities.
