Thank you to everyone who took part in our initial consultation on car parking in relation to the implementation of Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) in April 2019.

CPE provides an opportunity for Local Parking Plans to be produced defining off-street and on-street parking control policies. The aim of this consultation is to gain an understanding of local issues and possible solutions and incorporate them into Local Parking Plans so changes to car parks can be implemented in April 2018 before a freeze is imposed in readiness for CPE.

By having your say, you’re helping us gain an understanding of local issues and possible solutions to parking in East Suffolk which can be incorporated into Local Parking Plans, defining off-street and on-street parking policies in the district.

The next stage of the consultation is now open and asks residents to comment on the proposals to implement changes.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils, said:

“We know car parking is one of the key issues for our communities, so hopefully people will take part in this consultation.

"It is important because we are looking to increase charges in certain areas for the first time in years, as well as looking to raise funds to cover the increased cost of adopting enforcement for on-street parking across the district.

"Following our initial consultation, we have reviewed the responses from local people, as well as the Town and Parish Councils, to draft these proposals for managing car parking in the future, after CPE. It is important that people now take the opportunity to look at the proposals in detail and have their say before any decisions are made.”

The responses to the first round of consultation have been reviewed and can be viewed using the above links.
