The seaside town of Felixstowe is gearing itself up ready for the main 2018 visitor season… with a special launch event as part of English Tourism Week (17 to 25 March).
This light-hearted informal evening is being held at the Copas Bar Felixstowe on Thursday 22 March for invited guests from local attractions, shops, places to eat and accommodation providers. Launching next week at the event, will be the new Visit Felixstowe website and the 2018 DL leaflet which will be distributed throughout the area with information on days out and events.
Both the award-winning Felixstowe Museum and Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club will be in attendance bringing their trophies to view. Light refreshments will be served to guests by the Copas Bar and The Turtle and Bear Sandwich Shop.
The new Visit Felixstowe Tourism Award will also be officially announced… a celebration of the past year and its key highlights. Six of these ‘highlights’ have been shortlisted by the Tourism Working Group. They will be announced each day, starting this Saturday on the Visit Felixstowe Facebook and Twitter pages, with an online public vote opening on Friday 23 March. The winner will then be announced at the Annual Town Meeting in May.
Helen Greengrass, Felixstowe Forward Change Director said:
