Waveney District Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the District (excluding the Broads Authority area). The new Local Plan will review and update our existing Local Plan (Local Development Framework).
Consultation on the First Draft Local Plan runs from Friday 28 July to Friday 22 September 2017 and aims to get your views on the Council’s preferred strategy for future growth, policies to help determine planning applications and identifies sites to deliver new homes, employment land and community uses.
Unlike the existing Local Plan which is split across four separate documents, the new Local Plan, which covers the period to 2036, will be just one document containing planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications in the area. It will set out the level of growth which needs to be planned for, identify where that growth should be located and how it should be delivered.
Public consultation on the options for the new Local Plan, held in Spring 2017, helped to develop an approach to plan for growth across the District over the next 20 years.
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when people can have their say on planning policies and planning applications.
