Waveney District Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the District (excluding the Broads Authority area). The new Local Plan will review and update our existing Local Plan (Local Development Framework).
Unlike the existing Local Plan, which is split across four separate documents, the new Local Plan will be just one document containing all the planning policies and proposed development sites in the District.
Options for the new Waveney Local Plan consultation
Between 22 April and 17 June 2016, we published the document ‘Help plan our future: Options for the new Waveney Local Plan’. This marked the first stage of consultation on the new Local Plan. We would like to thank everyone who provided their views at this stage. We have published all the responses received.
Summary of responses
Call for sites
Thank you to all those who submitted sites as part of our 'call for sites'. The sites submitted between August and January formed part of the consultation on options for the new Waveney Local Plan. Sites submitted during the consultation on options for the new Waveney Local Plan are currently being processed.
Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment
Between October and November 2015, the Council consulted on a methodology for assessing the amount of land available to accommodate development over the new Local Plan period. The Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment will assess the suitability, availability and achievability of all sites submitted through the call for sites exercise as well as other sites identified by the Council.
