Public Access 3.1 also introduces elements to satisfy forthcoming GDPR legislation regarding the safe handling of personal and sensitive data. During the registration process, new users are now informed what personal information they are providing and how that data will be used in Public Access. Existing users of Public Access also need to provide consent for the storage and use of their personal data.
Our Public Access system lets you search, track and comment on planning applications, appeals and enforcements dating back to 1988.
Important note to users of Public Access - please be aware that if you register as a user of the system and wish to submit comments then your comments will be immediately published on the website. However, personal telephone numbers and email addresses will not be published.
The level of information available to view online for applications submitted since July 2013 has substantially increased with the new Public Access system. The amount of information prior that date may be limited as it is dependent on what was submitted electronically as part of the original planning application.
Records of planning applications determined by East Suffolk County Council between 1948 and 1974 are available through the property history search on Public Access although the related documents are not currently available. The references for these records have the prefix 'E'.
Issue with the constraints tab in Public Access - we have disabled the constraints tab when viewing properties due to a bug in the Public Access software. The constraints tab is still accessible via a planning application search. We hope to make the facility available again once the supplier provides a fix. District Local Plan documents can be viewed here.
Suffolk Coastal District Council offer an online Geographic Information System (GIS) to search map based information including the Suffolk Coastal Local Plan, Section 106 Agreements, conservation areas, listed buildings, Tree Preservation Orders, enforcement and stop register, register of contaminated land, parish boundaries, aerial photography (1999 and 2007) and historical maps of parts of the district.
Please note that plans, drawings and other material submitted to local authorities for planning applications are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
