Public toilets

We provide public toilets in 57 locations across the districts. Many of them are located close to or in Council operated car parks, shopping areas and on major traffic routes.

Most toilets have baby changing facilities and are accessible to people with disabilities.  Operating hours vary depending on location.

  • Public toilet locations, opening times and facilities
  • Report a problem with one of our public toilets

A limited number of toilets have attendance during all opening hours. This is to ensure that these heavily used toilets are kept to a high standard of cleanliness throughout the day.

All other toilets are cleaned once per day with a second clean at some busy ones during the summer period.

RADAR keys for access to disabled facilities

We no longer offer RADAR keys.

The RADAR National Key Scheme (NKS) provides special keys for registered disabled people to access locked public toilets around the UK.

They are limited and customers are advised to order keys from Disability Rights UK

In Lowestoft only, RADAR keys can be obtained from DIAL at 161 Rotterdam Road, or from Shopmobility at 15 Station Square.

Changing Places

Two public toilets are accessible for those who have applied to Changing Places:

  • Cobbold Road Car Park in Felixstowe (Please note that a separate key to access the hoist at the Cobbold Road can be borrowed from our information point within Felixstowe Library)
  • Martello Park South Car Park in Felixstowe

These offer additional facilities for people with disabilities and require a keycode for the lock. This code can be obtained by calling 03330 162000 or checking the Changing Places online map.
