Bin collection date finder |
Please ensure your bin is always out by 6.00am as collection times can change at any time for various reasons. All bin collections are scheduled as normal on bank holidays, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day - please check the East Suffolk Council social channel for the latest updates.
The collection service gives residents alternate fortnightly collections of recyclable materials and general household waste that cannot be recycled.
Excess waste (side waste) that you cannot fit into your bin must be taken to a household waste recycling centre or, where possible, taken to a local recycling facility.
Additional blue bins are available for a one-off fee, to cover the purchase of the bin.
Additional black bins are only available to households of 6 or more and for those with a genuine medical condition that produce excess waste. Proof must be provided and if eligible they can have an additional blue too. There is no charge for these bins.
Recyclable materials can also be taken to a local recycling facility or to a household waste recycling centre for disposal.
In Suffolk, mixed recycling is collected and taken to the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at Great Blakenham in Suffolk, for separation and baling. Find out more about what happens at the Great Blakenham Materials Recycling Facility.
