Groups planning an event to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday can now apply for funding to support their event, thanks to the allocation of funding by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Lowestoft.
Following a meeting of the Lowestoft Charter Trustees on 27 May, the Civic and Ceremonial Committee has agreed to allocate £1,000 from its grants budget to go towards local events celebrating the Queen's official birthday.
Cllr Stephen Ardley, the Mayor of Lowestoft said:
"Any community group in the Lowestoft area is invited to apply for this funding which can be used to help organise their event, including street parties and other community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen's official 90th birthday in June."
Local groups can apply for funding of up to £100 to help organise their event and funding will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.
To apply, please contact email email@example.com with details of your group and the event being planned.
The Lowestoft Charter Trustees comprise members of Waveney District Council who are elected for wards within the Borough of Lowestoft. The Mayor is elected by the Lowestoft Charter Trustees on an annual basis.
