Early Christmas greetings to local postmen and women

Posted by Suffolk Coastal District Council on 10 December 2018 | Comments

Suffolk Coastal’s Chairman, Cllr Nicky Yeo gave early Christmas greetings to hard-working postmen and women at Woodbridge Sorting Office on Friday (7 December).

Cllr Yeo was shown around the office by Delivery Office Manager, Colin England, and introduced to the postmen and women, who are pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in the Woodbridge area in the festive period.

Christmas is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail as millions of people shop online for gifts and send Christmas cards and parcels.

Cllr Yeo said: “It was great to meet the team at Woodbridge Sorting Office and see first-hand the hard work and dedication they put in to sorting and delivering festive parcels, cards and letters.

“I know that this is an extremely busy time for them, so I would like to thank them for taking the time to show me around and also for the extraordinary lengths they go to, to ensure that Christmas parcels and cards are delivered to loved ones on time.”

Colin England, Royal Mail Delivery Office Manager, said: “Our postmen and women will be working extremely hard to deliver Christmas parcels, cards and letters to people in Woodbridge. We are grateful that Cllr Nicky Yeo visited the office to see our operation and to support the team.”
