East Suffolk Council are delivering a range of exciting digital projects which aim to strengthen the economic vitality and connectivity of all our market towns, through the installation of technology and the delivery of digital support projects.
Current projects include the installation of free-to-use, town centre public Wi-Fi, footfall digital counting, and town marketing platforms.
The project will provide free-to-use public Wi-Fi in 11 of our town centres:
The free-to-use public Wi-Fi will be easy to connect, meaning you will be able access free Wi-Fi in the public realm and have the option to sign up for town centre news.
The digital footfall counters will help us understand our town centre visitor numbers, their peak times, average time spent in the town and more. This will help us support our local businesses and provide crucial evidence for town centre community and economic support projects.
Other projects being examined as part of wider economic development work, to support town centres and businesses include digital trails, digital high street solutions and digital business support programmes.
