Gambling Act 2005 - Consultation on a revised Statement of Principles
Responsibility for licensing and permissions to regulate premises used for casinos, bingo, betting and the wide variety of different gaming machines was transferred to Local Authorities in 2007 and local authorities have the responsibility for publishing a three-year ‘Statement of Principles’. The next edition is due to be published in January 2025. View the revision in draft form for consultation. The main changes to the draft document are: Simple removal of general text that is no longer relevant. Addition of an appendix to highlight organisations which provide support for people affected by gambling. Dates changes Change of terminology from bet receipt terminal to self-service terminal. The consultation period will close on 14 October 2024. The draft document may be amended following consideration of any comments, submitted on or before that date, in writing to the licensing department at the address below or by email to licensing@eastsuffolk.gov.uk.
