A small town. A big budget. And a heap of ambition. Want in?
We are looking for people to join the Central Lowestoft Neighbourhood Board - a new team of local champions who will shape how up to £20 million of Government investment is used to transform Lowestoft over the next ten years.
Yes, really.
This isn’t a consultation exercise or a talking shop. It’s the Team who will develop a long-term vision for Lowestoft, help decide how the money gets spent, and build something that outlasts the programme itself. The decisions you make will still be visible in ten, twenty, thirty years’ time.
Here’s the deal: the vision has to come from the community - the things that drive people mad, the ideas that have been kicking around for years, the quiet ambitions that never quite found a home. The Neighbourhood Team’s job is to listen to all of that, and then do something spectacular with it. More ambitious, more joined-up, more transformative than any single voice could produce alone.
We are not looking for regeneration experts or people who know their way around a Government funding framework. We’re looking for real people, who know this place, who think for themselves, and have the imagination - and the nerve - to ask not just what Lowestoft needs, but what it could genuinely become.
The small print (it’s important): you will need to be available for monthly meetings and community engagement sessions, and we will deliver a government submission by November 2026. It will be roughly two to three days a month of your time. Unpaid - but arguably the most significant local role going.
The big print: you would be shaping a place you care about, with real money, real authority, and real consequences. Not many people get that chance. We want people who bring positive energy to the table - this is serious work, but it’s also supposed to be fun.
If this sounds like you - even a little bit - we would love to hear from you. Send us a short statement: your connection to Central Lowestoft, what you would bring, and what you would most want to see happen. Written, video, voice note, whatever suits you. Send it to boardapplicationspip@gmail.com by 22 May 2026.
