East Suffolk Boost Grant Scheme

This East Suffolk Council grant scheme is part of our Covid Recovery Plan which includes a range of projects identified through our work with clinically vulnerable people over the last 20 months. During the lockdown phases of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was clear that there were specific groups who were particularly impacted, including those with disabilities, dementia and visual and/or hearing impairments and their carers.

The five priorities that this grant scheme targets are;

  • Groups, projects and activities that support people with Dementia and their carers
  • Groups, projects and activities that support people with Disabilities and Visual and/or Hearing impairments
  • Sustainable Community Food projects, for example community pantries, community allotments and cook and eat projects
  • Community projects to help people get Fit and Active, for example. community sports, walks, activity classes, outdoor gym equipment etc.
  • Community projects that can support individuals with Mental wellbeing issues.

Boost offers grants between £250 and £5,000, from a total pot of £180,000, to voluntary, community and social enterprise groups (VCSE) and Town/Parish Council who are seeking to deliver added value projects to tackle specific needs in East Suffolk. The lower limit for the first four themes is £250.

This scheme also now offers grants between £50 and £5,000 towards a new Priority; Mental Wellbeing. Please note, there is a separate application and separate guidance notes for this priority.

Round 3 is now open for applications.

The deadline for applications relating to; Dementia, Disability & Visual and/or Hearing impairments, Sustainable Community Food projects and the Fit & Active priorities, is 8th April 2022.
