Health and air quality
Air pollution is associated with a number of adverse health impacts. Generally if you are young and in a good state of health, moderate air pollution levels are unlikely to have any serious short term effects. However, elevated levels and/or long term exposure to air pollution can lead to more serious symptoms and conditions affecting human health. This mainly affects the respiratory and inflammatory systems, but is also recognised as a contributing factor in the onset of heart disease and cancer.

Regulator for Social Housing – Regulatory Judgement
Having undertaken wholescale ‘Stock Condition Surveys’ of its social housing properties, East Suffolk Council has acknowledged that many of its homes fail to meet what is known as the ‘Decent Homes Standard’. As a result, the Council referred itself to the Regulator of Social Housing and from the evidence we supplied, the Regulator will be issuing a ‘Regulatory Judgement’ today.

Keeping Animals for Training or Exhibition
The new Animal Welfare (Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 require all those who keep animals to train or exhibit, to hold a licence with the local authority. Previously, these keepers would have been registered with Suffolk County Council under the old Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925.
