  • North Falls Offshore Windfarm

    SSE Renewables and RWE Renewables have established a 50:50 equal joint venture company to develop the North Falls Offshore Wind Farm project, an extension to the operational Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of England in the southern North Sea. Offshore wind developers signed an Agreement for Lease with UK seabed managers, The Crown Estate in September 2020, to extend the existing 504MW wind farm by a further 504MW. The final capacity of the project will be determined during the development and consenting process.

  • Plastic Action resources for schools

    To help engage and educate young people around the issues of plastic pollution and how we can address these, the Greenprint Forum with support from the Council has produced the following resources available for educators including a Plastic Pollution Factsheet, how to run a waste audit activity with the students, and an example lesson plan for teachers aimed at upper Key Stage 2 classes.

  • Work to locate Gunton oil deposits to begin

    Beginning on Monday 18 October, specialist contractors will be on site at Lowestoft North Beach to undertake detailed site investigations to locate and quantify oil deposits which have been in situ since the historic Eleni V spill in 1978.

  • LGA Peer Challenge

    We are pleased to now issue the full report and action plan from the Local Government Association Peer Challenge which took place earlier this year. Experienced local government professionals spent a week with East Suffolk in February 2022 to provide challenge and share learning, with advice on how improvements could be made.

    Four independent officers from Tameside, Harrogate, Stevenage and North West Leicestershire, plus a Member based in Buckinghamshire, met with 90 people via 39 meetings, both in person and virtually.
