12 existing PSPOs relating to the control of dogs at locations across East Suffolk are due to expire in April 2023, with another PSPO relating to the exclusion of dogs from Felixstowe Beach due to expire in January 2023.

The PSPOs due for renewal are:

  • Exclusion of dogs from Southwold beach
  • Dogs on leads on Southwold Promenade
  • Dog Fouling
  • Dog Exclusion from land at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve
  • Dogs on Leads at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve
  • Exclusion of Dogs from Lowestoft Beach
  • Dogs on Leads on Lowestoft Promenade
  • Dogs in Children's Play Areas
  • Dogs on Corton Beach
  • Dogs on Leads at Charsfield Churchyard
  • Dogs on Leads at Lound Lakes Nature reserve
  • Dogs on Leads at Herringfleet Hills
  • Exclusion of dogs from Felixstowe Beach

All 13 PSPOs were adopted in 2020 and are being proposed for renewal without any alteration to existing restrictions for a further three years.

A consultation is now open and people can give their views on the proposed renewals by emailing environmental.protection@eastsuffolk.gov.uk

The consultation closes at 5pm on 8 January 2023.
