Route D2 and B1122 study
EDF Energy has identified the B1122 as the main access route to deliver the Sizewell C development. This route will need to accommodate HGV vehicles for the delivery of materials, coach traffic for transporting workers to the site, abnormal loads and car trips by individual workers/visitors. Following the Stage 1 consultation by EDF Energy, concerns were raised around the lack of information provided for transport related mitigation for the B1122.

To help recycle even more, residents will soon be able to recycle their small electrical items from home through new electrical kerbside collections beginning in November. Collections will be rolled out across the district between November and May 2025 - look out for a leaflet advising when collections will begin in your area.

Waste collection and disposal
Read more about "Waste collection and disposal"...From 2026, East Suffolk Council will supply all households with an additional wheelie bin or other container to separate paper and card from plastics, metal, cartons (including Tetra Pak) and glass bottles or jars. This will be in addition to a brand-new weekly food waste collection service. This extra collection service will also allow the Council to adopt a three-weekly waste collection service, rather than the current fortnightly arrangement, without a reduction in the overall combined capacity of household bins.
