    Planning application process

    The most efficient way to submit a planning application is by using the online service from the Planning Portal, however, you can alternatively submit your application by post or email using downloadable forms. For the modification and discharge of planning obligations, please use our Modification and discharge of planning obligations application form. These forms can be submitted by email or post to our Planning team.

    The council has over 900 sites for private beach huts in Felixstowe and these are in high demand. There may be opportunity to purchase a new hut and licence a site in the future (contact us to register your interest) but second-hand huts can be purchased privately throughout the year and an application for a new licence made by the new owner.

  • Monitoring the Suffolk Coast

    The Environment Agency carries out beach profile surveys twice a year. This involves using specialist equipment to record the beach or cliff levels at predetermined locations along the coast. By using the same coordinates for each survey, we are able to build up a historic record of the change in beach levels all the way along our coastline.
