Take part in the annual Suffolk Growth business survey
Suffolk local authorities provide support and advice to businesses and through wider investment programmes and economic development activities, help to shape the wider environment for business start-up, growth, workforce and skills development, and trade. To ensure our activity is focused on the needs of our businesses, Suffolk Growth would like to hear from you, the issues you face and how the public sector can deliver actions that will improve business growth and development.
Suffolk Growth introduced an annual business survey in June 2021 and heard from hundreds of businesses – last year the results showed:
- 1/3 of respondents reported that business confidence was extremely / very high, but one in six respondents (16%) stated they had a very low level of confidence
- Over 50% of respondents had a skills / training plan in place, with sector specific skills identified as a shortage
- One in four respondents (25%) were trading / planning to trade outside the UK
- Nearly 40% stated their company had a carbon emissions reduction plan in place
- 3 out of 5 businesses responding said their number one need from the public sector was increased access to finance, with 1 in 4 looking for improved skills and / or greater awareness of local contracting opportunities
This year’s survey will take only 5-10 minutes to complete and all responses to the survey will be collated by the Suffolk Growth Partnership on behalf of Suffolk Local Authorities.
Only aggregated data will be shared with local authority partners and we will report back on issues raised to all respondents to the survey.
