Further funding available for community groups

Posted by East Suffolk Communications Team on 8 March 2021 | Comments

A funding scheme to help tackle one of East Suffolk Community Partnership’s key priorities has now opened for round 2.

The Felixstowe Peninsula Community Partnership launched its new Small Grant Scheme, which is available to voluntary and community groups within the Partnership area, in October 2020.

The aim of the scheme is to tackle local priorities within the Partnership area, including isolation and loneliness, mental health and emotional wellbeing, physical health, financial hardship and educational attainment.

Funding is available for projects which addresses these priorities while benefiting the wider community. This can include providing interactive wellbeing programme sessions online, putting on physical activities for both individuals and families or starting a befriending project aimed at people who are socially isolated.

Cllr Mark Jepson, Chair of the Felixstowe Peninsula Community Partnership, said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the Small Grant Scheme, which will support our local community across the peninsula. We are fortunate to have some outstanding local organisations, groups and charities, and welcome new groups also to apply.  I hope that this fund will provide them with the opportunity to respond to emerging issues and develop community resilience.”

The scheme offers grants between £250 and £2,000 and the deadline for applications in round 2 is 2 April 2021.

Applications are now closed.
