Get set for a summer of fun events and activities at the Landguard Peninsula in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
At the award-winning Felixstowe Museum, celebrate Tokyo 2020 with the Fantastic Olympic Brick Trail running from the 28 July to 5 September. Search the museum for the sporting Lego models - from gymnastics to swimming and cycling. No need to book, just turn up.
The museum will also be welcoming back the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club with their Classic Car Display on the 8 August. Come and admire these motoring beauties and chat to their proud owners.
Nature Detectives required! The Landguard Nature Reserve has two Wildlife Discovery Days on the 4 and 18 August. Join the Ranger for a day of drop-in free activities, including a new willow creatures trail, guided nature walk/scavenger hunt, touch tables and crafts. This event is taking place next to the Manor Terrace car park.
Play hide and seek at the magnificent Landguard Fort - which has fun children’s quiz trails on their opening days throughout the school summer holidays. The Fort is also holding the ‘Music at Sunset’ concert on the
25 July featuring the wonderful sounds of the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, Suffolk Young Strings and Suffolk Youth Wind Orchestra. Bring a picnic and enjoy this open-air musical treat.
Need some refreshment? The View Point Cafe and Kiosk are back open every day serving fresh fish and chips, all day breakfasts and ice creams - both offering amazing views of the giant ships arriving and departing at the Port of Felixstowe.
Stephen Rampley, Landguard Marketing and Events Co-ordinator says “This summer, we have sporting minifigures, unique willow creatures, live music and classic cars. Something to keep all ages and interests amused at Suffolk’s most southerly point”.
