Greenprint Forum, a voluntary network facilitated by East Suffolk Council, is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary by hosting a series of events to shape the future of the network.

Members of the public and community groups are invited to attend the events. These include two workshops held in April, which will then build towards a main inspirational forum on 12 June.

The workshops will both reflect on the key actions taken by the network since its inception and look forward to what more can be done to support the future sustainability of Suffolk. They are taking place as follows:

  • Thursday 9 April 2pm – 5pm at Riverside, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ
  • Wednesday 22 April 6pm – 9pm at East Suffolk House, Melton, IP12 1RT

The summer event will take place on Friday 12 June from 1.30pm at Saxmundham Market Hall.A range of speakers will be in attendance, giving inspiring and informative talks. There will also be space for local environmental groups to bring their stalls to promote their activities and engage with attendees.

Outputs from the April events will also be discussed and refined, helping to create a refreshed vision for the Greenprint Forum as it enters its fourth decade.

Jane Healey, Chair of the Greenprint Forum, said:

“For thirty years, those who make up the Greenprint Forum have worked to improve the lives of people across the county by mobilising communities to take environmental action. Reaching such an important milestone is a testament to the success and continued motivation of the people and groups that comprise our network, and these events will look to reflect on that.

“We hope to see as many people as possible at our upcoming events, to learn about our important work and to also help us shape the network going forward.”

Registration for all of these events is now open. Groups wishing to have a stallholder’s space at the event on 12 June to promote their own activities will be able to request a space when registering for that event.

In addition to the 30th anniversary events, guided visits to the Suffolk Wildlife Trust Martlesham Wilds reserve have also been arranged on behalf of the Greenprint Forum, on Wednesday 3 June at 5.30pm, and Wednesday 17 June at 10am. Places on these tours can also be registered via the same link above.

The Greenprint Forum is a voluntary network, facilitated by East Suffolk Council, to help deliver their business plan; specifically enabling community environmental action to improve lives and strengthen our economy.
