Cllr Anthony Speca has been re-elected as Chair of East Suffolk Council. The Green Party Bungay and Wainford ward member will fulfil the role for a fourth consecutive year having first been chosen in 2023.
Meanwhile, Labour councillor for Kirkley and Pakefield, Malcolm Pitchers, it is to be the deputy Chair. It will be the first time since the creation of East Suffolk Council in 2019 that one of the two roles will be filled by someone who is not in the current Administration.
Cllr Caroline Topping, Leader of the Council, said: “I am delighted that Cllr Speca has been re-elected as Chair, having already served in the role with distinction for the past three years. Additionally, the appointment of Cllr Pitchers as Deputy Chair is an indication of the healthy cross-party relationships here in East Suffolk, and our shared commitment to work together on behalf of our residents and communities.”
