Due to the persistent hot temperatures across the past few days and the accumulated impacts on operational staff, East Suffolk Services Limited has taken the decision to suspend some waste collection services in the district.
This suspension primarily affects rounds in the south of the district, including Kesgrave, Nacton, Woodbridge, Kirton, Martlesham, Little Bealings, Rushmere St Andrew, Bucklesham, Purdis Farm and Foxhall.
Households who do not receive a collection in these locations today are advised to leave their bins on the kerbside and crews will endeavour to catch up tomorrow and on Monday. Prioritisation will be given to general and garden waste collections; therefore, if your recycling containers are not emptied by close of play on Monday, please store for collection on your next scheduled date.
Food waste collections which are not completed will also take place on the next scheduled date and households are advised to either place this waste in your general waste bin, or store in your large caddy, with the handle locked up, until your next collection.
East Suffolk Services apologises for any inconvenience caused, however the welfare of operational staff will always be prioritised where the conditions are causing difficulties for crews.
