Grant scheme opens to support mental health projects

Posted by on 8 May 2024 | Comments

Voluntary organisations, community groups and parish councils in Framlingham, Wickham Market, Kelsale, Yoxford and the surrounding villages are now able to apply for grant funding to support projects that enable residents to ‘try something new’ to aid their mental health and wellbeing.

The scheme, made possible with funding from the Framlingham, Wickham Market, Kelsale and Yoxford and villages Community Partnership, will provide grants for projects that help residents in those areas to try different activities which will improve and support their mental health and wellbeing.

Organisations can apply for between £500 and £1,000 from a total initial fund of £4,000 for a range of projects, providing they supply individuals or families with activities locally that they otherwise would not be able to try or access.

Cllr Sally Noble, Chair of the Framlingham, Wickham Market, Kelsale and Yoxford and villages Community Partnership, said: “One of the Community Partnership's priorities is improving the mental health of residents, of all ages, through physical activity and this latest round of funding will help local groups deliver new projects and activities to boost the mental wellbeing of our communities.

Applications require completion of an application form that will be appraised by East Suffolk Council officers before going to a panel of members of the Community Partnership.

Applications for this funding are now closed.
