As part of the ongoing regeneration of Felixstowe’s South Seafront, new beach huts currently under construction at the Seashore Village development are now available to purchase.
East Suffolk Council is working with Scott Beckett Estate Agents for the sale of the new beach huts, which will be set in landscaped grounds, primarily set around a central ‘fish-shaped’ lawn, designed by Plaice Architects.
Construction is being undertaken by Gipping Construction, overseen by Hollins Architects, with the beach huts being purpose-built by PJ Spillings Ltd. These will then be assembled on site in the coming weeks.
Cllr Toby Hammond, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Economic Development said: “The new facilities, combined with the new beach huts, landscaping and activity park all currently under construction at the seafront will create a welcoming space for residents and visitors to enjoy, as well as improving accessibility for all. The Seashore Village development is part of exciting wider regeneration work which is underway in Felixstowe.”
27 new timber huts will be available to own, with the first huts now being released for sale. Huts are being sold on a long-lease arrangement and full details are available from Scott Beckett by calling 01394 338000 or emailing enquiries@scottbeckett.co.uk.
New public conveniences are also under construction at the Seashore Village, which will include accessible and Changing Places facilities.
Five of the beach huts have been designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind. These huts will be available for short-term hire.
Construction is also progressing on the new activity park, which will feature exercise equipment, a climbing wall, concrete table tennis facilities, pétanque court, accessible picnic benches, chess tables and an outdoor work-out space.
