Local people are invited by East Suffolk Council to attend a further consultation event about draft proposals for the North Felixstowe Garden Neighbourhood scheme.
Following previous events which have welcomed the views and opinions of Felixstowe residents, this latest session will take place at Felixstowe School on Thursday 7 November, between 5.30pm and 8pm. It will include a 'Question and Answer' session with councillors, council project officers and consultants, plus a further opportunity to view a range of information boards about the proposals.
Tickets for the event are FREE and can be obtained via the project's website (‘Events’ tab), with a limit of two per person/transaction. To encourage as wide a local demographic as possible, priority will be given first to students of the school and an accompanying parent or carer, with a set allocation (20% of seats) available from 12.30pm on Thursday 17 October. The remaining seats, plus any left from the initial allocation, will then be available for all, from Monday 21 October.
In 'BBC Question Time' style, attendees will also be given the opportunity to submit questions to the panel in advance. Any questions which are not read out due to time limitations, will be published, with answers, on the project website after the conclusion of the event.
About the project
The Suffolk Coastal Local Plan 2020 identified approximately 143ha of land for a Garden Neighbourhood to the north of Felixstowe and Trimley St Mary, for a comprehensive leisure led development comprising green infrastructure, community facilities and employment land alongside residential development.
East Suffolk Council is now leading the master planning process with the ambition of submitting an outline planning application in early 2025. The project is expected to take around 10-15 years to realise.
