'How we involve you in planning‘ explains how East Suffolk Council will involve residents and other stakeholders in planning matters.

'How We Involve You in Planning' (2026) explains how East Suffolk Council will involve residents and other stakeholders in planning matters, including planning applications and Neighbourhood Plans. It also sets out principles we will follow in engaging on a new local plan, which will set out where homes, jobs and infrastructure will go.

The document was previously known as the Statement of Community Involvement but has been renamed to make its purpose clearer and easier to understand. It supersedes the Statement of Community Involvement (2021) which was revoked on 31st May 2026. For reference, the Statement of Community Involvement (2021) can be accessed below.

The Consultation Statement includes a summary of the comments received during the consultation on How we will Involve you in Planning, held between 13 January and 24 February 2026, and the Council's response.

Former Statement of Community Involvement (2021) was revoked on 31 May 2026.
