In August 2014 Rendlesham Parish Council submitted its Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to the District Council.
The Rendlesham Neighbourhood Plan has been prepared by the Parish Council following extensive consultation with the local community and sets out its vision for development over the next 15 years.
In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 the Parish Council submitted the following documents:
The role of the District Council was to publicise the documents and to invite comments on them ahead of the plan being submitted for independent examination.

Comments on the plan were invited over a six week period from 1 September 2014 to 13 October 2014:
The examination commenced on 24 November 2014. On 26 November, the examiner, Mr Nigel McGurk, confirmed that he would not be holding a hearing session in respect of the Rendlesham Neighbourhood Plan proposal and that the examination would proceed via written representation.
The examiner's report, published in December 2014, concluded that subject to modifications identified in the report the Rendlesham Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to referendum.
