Saxmundham Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by Saxmundham Town Council.
Saxmundham Town Council have applied to review their Neighbourhood Plan area. Before deciding on the suitability of the proposed Neighbourhood Area, East Suffolk Council would like to hear your views. Consultation ends on 05 April 2024.
How to respond:
The Neighbourhood Plan was formally ‘made’ by East Suffolk Council on 26 July 2023, and forms part of the development plan for the determination of planning applications in Saxmundham.
The referendum for the Saxmundham Neighbourhood Plan took place on 29 June 2023. Of the people who voted, 86.9% voted in favour of the Saxmundham Neighbourhood Plan. Documents relating to the Referendum (the ‘specified documents’) can be viewed below:

An independent Examiner carried out an Examination of the plan and considered if it should proceed to referendum.
Saxmundham Town Council submitted its Neighbourhood Plan to East Suffolk Council ahead of it being submitted for independent examination. Consultation took place between 8 July 2022 and 2 September 2022. View the notice.
The first stage was to designate the Saxmundham neighbourhood area. Comments were invited between 26 June 2017 and 8 August 2017 and the area was approved on 29 August 2017.
