Wickham Market Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by Wickham Market Parish Council following consultation with the local community and is used alongside the Local Plan when making decisions on planning applications in the area.
Wickham Market Neighbourhood Plan was formally ‘Made’ by East Suffolk on 22 November 2023.

A referendum was held on Thursday 12 October 2023. Of the people who voted, 78.9% voted in favour of the Wickham Market Neighbourhood Plan.
The Wickham Market Neighbourhood Plan was examined by independent examiner Andrew Ashcroft, who submitted his final report on 28 June 2023.
The Examiner requested an additional consultation in relation to the Site Assessment Report between 9 May and 30 May 2023.
Wickham Market Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to East Suffolk Council ahead of it being submitted for independent examination. East Suffolk Council publicised the plan and invited representations between 9 November and 21 December 2022. Consultation notice.
The first stage was to designate the 'Neighbourhood Area' – the geographical area the plan will cover.
